Kirby Super Star (USA)

A side-scrolling platform game Kirby Super Star (USA). Similar to earlier games in the Kirby series, the player controls Kirby to progress through a number of stages while dodging foes and obstacles. In addition to being able to run, leap, swim, crouch, and slide, Kirby can also ingest things or foes to spit them out as bullets.

Kirby may inflate himself for a brief period of flight; during this time, he is unable to fight or use any of his other powers, but he can expel a weak puff of air. Kirby can acquire copy skills and power-ups that let him inherit the traits of specific foes by eating them. Kirby gains the ability to guard in Kirby Super Star so he may defend himself against ineffective strikes.

A helper, a character that can be controlled automatically or by another player, can be created by Kirby if he utilizes a copy ability. Helpers can continually float like Kirby, but they can only employ the copy ability on which they were based. In an emergency, the player can also change the helper's form or transform them back into a power-up.

When they are struck by obstacles or adversaries, the player characters suffer health loss. There is just a brief window of time for Kirby to bestow a new power on the helper before it vanishes if it loses all of its health. The player will lose a life if Kirby runs out of health. Eating food spread out among levels can restore health.
