Frogger

Play retro game Frogger on your browser free. Frogger is an action video game from 1981 that was made by Konami and sold by Sega. Sega and Gremlin were in charge of selling it in North America. To get the five frogs to their homes, you have to guide them across a busy road and across a river by jumping on alligators and moving logs.

How to play Frogger

Getting the frog to each of the vacant houses at the top of the screen is the goal of the game. Depending on how the machine is set up, the game starts with three, five, or seven frogs. If you lose all of your frogs, the game is over.

The 4-way joystick is used to make the person hop the frog once. Frogger can be played by one person or by two people taking turns.
At the bottom of the screen, where the frog starts, there is a horizontal road full of fast-moving cars, dune automobiles, trucks, and bulldozers. The player has to steer the frog between two lanes of traffic so that it doesn't get hit by a car and lose a life.

After crossing the street, there is a strip in the middle of the screen that splits the two main parts. A river with logs, alligators, and turtles traveling in various directions is seen in the upper half of the screen.

Players must leap on swiftly moving logs and on the backs of turtles and alligators to get the frog to safety. The player has to stay away from alligators, snakes, and otters with their mouths open. A highly colored female frog is sometimes on a log, and you can carry it to get extra points. There are five "frog homes" at the very top of the screen, and at least one of them is always open. These can sometimes have extra bugs or snakes that are very dangerous.

Tips

The game gets harder as you go to the next level once all five frogs are in their families. The game gets a little easier after five levels, but then it gets harder again after each level. You have 30 seconds to get each frog into one of the homes. The timer starts over after 60 ticks when a life is lost or a frog gets home safely.
