King of the Demon World Astaroth, also called the Devil or Great Satan to distinguish him from another demon boss named Satan, has taken Princess Prin-Prin hostage. The player controls a knight named Sir Arthur and has to fight zombies, giants (also called "big men"), demons, one-eyed giants, dragons, and other monsters to free her. The player can get bonus items, new guns, and more armor sets along the way that will help them with this quest.
The player can only be hit twice before they lose a life. If they do, they have to start the game over or go back to a checkpoint to start over. In addition, if the player doesn't finish the level in time, they will lose a life. To get to the real ending, the player has to play the whole game again on a harder difficulty setting after beating the final boss, The Devil.
