Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes is a 2D fighting game that blends Capcom and Marvel characters. Professor Charles Xavier urges the heroes to aid him before he merges with Magneto to produce the final boss, Onslaught.

The game continues the typical fighting gameplay, except you now need three characters instead of two. The other characters can be summoned for aid attacks, and there's a pair team attack to control two characters at once and super moves when the characters team up.
There are several game modes available, including training, survival (like Street Fighter Alpha 3), 4-player tag, and straight arcade battle (Dreamcast only). The PlayStation version excludes four-player tag and limits the second character to an assist role, but it includes a "crossover" option that enables tag-team play between teams that are otherwise similar.
