Alien Syndrome (Japan) is a game full of fun. Two players take control of two soldiers, named Ricky and Mary, who battle their way through massive eight-dimensional scrolling levels while rescuing their comrades being held captive by aliens. After they have rescued a certain number of hostages, the exit will open and they can go through there to fight the final guardian. If this monster is defeated, they can move on to the next stage. Alien Syndrome features two players simultaneously playing and picking up player aids, including better weapons and maps at current levels. Good luck!
