Galaga '91 (Japan)

Galaga '91 is a video game with a fixed shooter. The plot revolves around the United Galaxy Space Force sending a lone starfighter to cleanse the galaxy of the hostile Galaga aliens who want to wipe out humanity.
This starfighter is piloted by the player over eleven stages, each of which becomes increasingly tough. Stages are shown by little icons in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The player will face a big boss opponent in the last stage.
The player must divebomb towards the player and attempt to collide with their ship while simultaneously shooting projectiles, as in earlier Galaxian games. Four larger aliens known as the Boss Galaga sit atop the enemy formation, and they take two shots to defeat. During a divebomb, they will sometimes use a tractor beam that can capture a player's ship and return it to the top of the formation, costing the player a life.
The player is able to shoot down a Boss Galaga holding the captured ship to rescue it and transform the player into a "dual fighter" with additional firepower as well as a larger hitbox Shooting the Boss Galaga while it is divebombing will cause the fighter to turn against the player and act as an alien; shooting the Boss Galaga while it is in formation will cause the fighter to turn against the player and act like an alien.
