Fighting in the J.League One of the soccer games that is based on the first season of the Japanese J. League is called just soccer. A total of sixteen teams are available for the player to select from, and they have the option of competing in either the league, a tournament, an exhibition match, or a two-person game (via link cable).

It is also possible for the user to select the strategy that the squad will employ. While the match is in progress, the field is displayed from a side view that is slanted sideways and scrolls from left to right. The player has the ability to pass, shooting, and tackle either the athlete who is now in possession of the ball or the defender who is closest to them.
