Spin and Slick, the two titular Crash Dummies, are the playable characters in The Incredible Crash Dummies.

They go on a journey to rescue their kidnapped friends, Spare Tire, Darryl, and Bumper from the Junkman. The first section of the first act takes place at the Crash Test Center, a machine research and development facility, while Slick is putting himself back together following an automobile accident.

He discovers that Bumper is being held hostage in the sewers by one of Junkman's helpers (a.k.a. "Junkbots"), who kidnapped him in the Test Area.

The user must complete courses and conquer challenges, including jumping off of tall buildings, driving quickly across precarious ski slopes, riding on rocket-propelled target missiles, controlling spaceships, and other activities. The player must defeat ten opponents on each of the 27 stages.
